The Semo R/C Flyers' "Farewell Fun-Fly"

The Semo R/C Flyers' "Farewell Fun-Fly"
Our fellow club, full of all-around Good Guys, is being forced to shut down and move as they lose their field.
The Semo R/C Flyers have been committing model aviation for more than 30 years from their little club field, next to Interstate 55, just north of Sikeston, Missouri.
Don't have an absolute date on their moving their stuff, but they DID want to host one last blast before moving their gear.
The turnout on Friday and Saturday was big, in spite of yesterday's cold wind from the north.
I only took the Mavic and some cameras to snoop around and record some of the fun.
We're hoping our buds find a new location quickly and the Breezy Hill Flyers may get involved in some of the set-up grunt work.

That sucks big time. I know and can relate to this as our club was also shut down this year due to an idiot just north of the field and the land manager. We too have not heard anything back yet about a new possible location. Wishing them good luck on relocating.

I wish those modelers should find their new home to fly undisturbed.
I wonder if you CEF mates flying RC in the USA are restricted by any state or federal drone law or similar, that bans flights without pilot test certificate, plane registration, insurance, airspace use permit etc?
Every time I see the vast open space in films shot in the US countryside, or when I traveled in the US I looked with yearning eyes at the seemingly limitless opportunities to fly RC not necessarily as a club member but as a loner...like when Kim shoots his vids on his own land...in a small country like Hungary it takes a lot of search to find a land where you can fly without disturbing others or being disturbed by authorities who enforce the drone law..

the drone laws are bs, i will never comply. amazon and google want the airspace uninterrupted for the coming soon drone delivery. look whose on the board behind model registration and remote id. not anyone that cares bout model flyers or has even flown a model, just people who wanna put lots of dollars in their pocket. laws not based on morals are nothing more than the opinions of politicians backed by threat of force. birds are more of a danger to manned aircraft than drones but these regulations have nothing to do with that, just securing the airspace amazon. i can almost bet they paid the ffa off. definitely something all modelers need to take a closer look at and realize were getting shafted so billionaires can put more in their pockets, profit over peoplebalogh wrote:I wish those modelers should find their new home to fly undisturbed.
