Rules: You may post *one (1) picture of an engine or a group of engines that are alike (for example: a collection of Space Bug Jr.s that feature each color tank). The engine must be a Cox engine, it can be stock or parts built. Cox engines using aftermarket or handmade parts and multi-cylinder engines are allowed as long as they feature Cox made crankcase(s) and cylinder(s). Although proof isn't required, engines that are built using aftermarket or handmade parts have to be able to run. A good example of a non-running homemade engine that wouldn't qualify for this contest is found HERE. Disassembled engines are allowed as long as all parts are visible and the engine is in running condition when assembled.
If you are unsure if your picture qualifies, feel free to contact the administrator with questions.
* You may post multiple "pictures" as long as they are all joined together in one picture. (This is done in image editing software before uploading)
MAIN POINTS
•One picture
•Picture shall be of one engine or engines that are alike (a Babe Bee and a Tee Dee .049 together would NOT qualify)
•Must be a Cox Engine
•Engines using aftermarket or handmade parts must feature Cox made crankcase(s) and cylinder(s)
•Engine must be able to run
Optional Caption
Along with your picture you may include a caption that describes or explains the picture. The caption should include the name and displacement of the engine. The caption has to be short as if you picture wins, it will be posted under the picture in the sidebar. If you do not include a caption, one will be thought up for you.
After 5 days, the first 10 pictures will be moved to another topic to be voted on by other members. Only active members may vote. The winner will have their engine displayed on the sidebar of the forum and forever listed on the past winners page.
Looking forward to see what you guys come up with! Good Luck!

Twin Cox .049 reed-valve glow engines, configured as later product-engines having the horseshoe-style back-end for an external fuel tank. Shown here on my self-designed Lockheed P-38 Lightning. Engine cylinders are the later dual-bypass ported with "slit-exhaust-ports" type. Propellers are DAL brand 5" X 4" r/h and l/h. Both engines are fitted with Tee Dee style AL spinners which engage my 1/2A electric starter's cone. External fuel tanks are NOS "Perfect" #17 .25oz./7.4cc capacity each.

Thanks for the warning! I hope to campaign a picture during a month no one enters...thus ensuring victory!

Re: *Cox Engine of The Month* Submit your pictures! -December 2021-
My featured twins were a test-bed for homemade-experimental "reeds" a few years ago. Here's a vid
Pay no attention to my nervous "ticks".. The engine on "my right" wouldn't smooth-out.. and I'm wondering if it could have been the experimental reed that wasn't seating correctly..

The prop is 4.5 x 2 Cox black plastic….. I think the photo angle makes it look bigger….
Jim, The motor runs great and is consistent!!…. I’ve ran it about half a dozen times and they’re all about like the video…. Start it a little rich and it ends up just a little leaner about 90 sec later without touching the needle…. Probably would go a little longer if I replaced the old, shrunken pick up tube…. I didn’t have one at the time….After initial warm up run it will start on about the fifth flip without a prime so tells me it’s pumping good which is another cylinder condition indicator…
The saving of the cylinder adds a lot of character to that engine…..Was a fun project One of these days I’ll get it airborne on something “safe”

Re: *Cox Engine of The Month* Submit your pictures! -December 2021-
how do you bend a cylinder in the first place?...being a long time musician myself i know bout the nails, pick players aint got nothing on finger players and nothing compares to the warm deep tone of a quality classical guitar. distortion is a great way to cover mistakes and have fun but classical guitarist along with some banjo players dont get the credit they deserve and can play circles around most shredders. and no thats not girly in a musicians worldrdw777 wrote:Please disregard the girly nails on my right hand….. classical guitar
