New Balsa Project
Hey guys I have been out of the hobby for over 50 years. I want to build a Buster with a 40" or so wing. What engine brands should I stay away from. I used Enya and Fox as a teenager.
Thanks CEF

FOX
OS
Enya
are still easy to find most used but often New in Box show up on RCG, E-bay
Many CEF guys have good engines or know where some are. Wanted to buy ads here on CEF has several members willing to help search out most anything
In your area most of the RC swap meets9many very large multiday events will have hidden gems for control line for cheap

Buster Plans
Thanks Andrew,
I have a Top Flite ARF kit coming from a member, but I want to recreate my old Buster. When that time comes I will contact you . Just getting started back in the hobby at 67.

Re: New Balsa Project
Yeah, I have engines for days that need a new home. Let me know what you want. I probably have it.
The Buster was designed with the Fox .35 in mind, most .35’s of that vintage will work just as well.

Thank you Cribbs. Is an OS25LA equal to the older Fox35s

Re: New Balsa Project
If you own a LA .25, it would be the optimal choice to give things a go again. I love the Fox .35 but it can prove to be very problematic on the newer redesigns of the old models. Mainly due to the newer laser cut kits have very light wood. The older engines tend to shake . These newer designed kits work very well with the OS LA or FP .25's.

Re: New Balsa Project
The ARF Flite Streak is a neat plane. It's more for the experienced pilot vs a new learner or a returnee. One ground shot and it's a trip to the garbage can. The Streak uses cardboard inside and has little to no nose strength which has it break it's nose off in front of the leading edge. When trying to repair, there's nothing to glue to. The inside of the fuse is hollow. It's built like a hollow core door. It does fly well with a LA.25. The single wheel landing gear seems to throw many a curve ball. I like them. Launch with the nose pointed outwards and the outboard tip on the ground to avoid doing a dance in the center of the circle with the LA .25.
