Re: TeeDee vs Medallion
Yes they have high compression heads and I just love this bee the red and green go so well!Cox International wrote:No worries Nitro.
I bought one of Matt's Christmas Bees but did not specifically look at the head (the engine is at home) but if it has a high-compression head then the product came from us or, better said, it was from the production run that Matt an we shared.
What #is yours?
Re: TeeDee vs Medallion
Considering the cost of conversion parts, I suggest just buying a TD .049 outright. I've seen NIB TD .049's go for $50.
I recently obtained a nice used TD .051 for $40. Do the math.

Nitro,
I can't remember aside that I asked Matt to send me the last one in the series.
Dave,
The OP's issue was converting to RC, not acquiring an engine per-se. TD RC 049 and TD RC 09 engines sell for stupid money new (like $250 - $300) so that, if you can find the carb items at reasonable cost, that might be a way to proceed.

I'm not sure about the "Medallion" style carb, but any of the other "TeeDee" parts seem to be hard to find. MECOA (Sorry Bernie) seems to have the plastic intakes for the .09 engines.
I've only dealt with MECOA once and watch their shipping costs (cheaper on eBay, which doesn't make much sense) as I wanted a red TeeDee intake for my 051.
