I have several .049 mufflers missing the black ring insert that does in the top. Has anyone figured out a way to make one?

I'm sure you could take some sheet metal and trace a cox one and cut it out or stamp it out.

I think it is spring steel that was stamped out. Not easy to make.

You are talking about that black ring on top of the muffler right, you could make one of those easily. It probably won't look original but it would work and if you do it nice, it should look nice too.

It's the black part at the top of the muffler tha bottom of the cylinder goes through. It's like a ring with a smaller dia. hole in the center. I was hoping I could find someone with extras I could trade for bottoms.
