Technology - Not so wonderful
My daughter sent me home with this robot vacuum cleaner to try. Did fine in the bedroom where there are few obstructions, not so fine in the dining room.
Got hung up under one of the chairs, but eventually found it's way out and wandered around for awhile until it got hung up for good on the piano stands leg.
Had to rescue it and hit "dock" where it slunk off to the breezeway and found it's home at the charging station.

Re: Technology - Not so wonderful
A couple of weeks ago, my cousin gave me her Roomba to look at. It wasn't charging and the front side brush no longer rotates (the little one on the side). She has a few of them and they're always running all over her house. She says she likes them.
It's starting to get warm out and all the snow is gone from the patio table, so I thought I would dig it out and see what's up with it. I cleaned the contacts on the charger and on the bottom of the Roomba, so far it seems to be charging and I just had it running around the back porch for about 10 or so minutes before pressing the dock button. I think it's older than 5 years old, so it could probably use a new battery anyway. I'm going to let it charge up for a little longer, then see why the front brush doesn't move. I'm going to have to come up with a way to trick all the sensors so I can run it upside down with the bottom off, or see if I can affix the leads of a multimeter on the side brush motor contacts and let it run around to see if the motor is getting anything.

Well, it is a "loan" Shark. (See above)
They do great in the bedroom Jacob, nothing beats them for doing under the bed. Best part is hitting "Dock" and watching it find it's way home. Senses when the battery needs charging then docks itself for charging.
No matter, she's getting it back. I push the standard vacuum cleaner for exercise.

3100 Sq ft ranch house no more carpet, all tile or wood flooring. One 30x40 painted cement floor Quilting shop. One 15x 38 cement painted floor Reloading and Airplane shop.
We run 5 DeeBot N79s random tech, and 2 Wyze AI smart mapping floor vacuums. (Yes Virginia, 7 robots not yet connected to SkyNet) Each well under $300 with Amazon Warranty extensions. When one craps out we get to exchange for a new rebuilt one. After 4 years + now and can not think of a better decision.
BTW my assessment is these are not as loud as traditional but still too loud for TV or radio use when they are all active. They entertain the dogs. These cheap(er) versions don't do carpet well.
Not Lazy just older with some extra discretionary cash every month. BTW 5 short hair dogs shed and enormous amount of hair. Texas is a dusty place.
Our $650 Kirby sits unused now. I am thinking Craig's list or similar when I have time
