In other words, the proverbial "Brick-on-a-string"![/quote]
yep, thats about right.
If someone really wanted the 'plastic experience' get a late model PT-19, they actually fly pretty good (not as well as balsa) and pretty reasonable in price.

We get a lot of those around here, Helldrivers, trouble is they are on the roads!!
The US has cornered the market on this,, why just last night I was having to do my job and also "drive" for everyone else on the road during rush hour.
The Helldiver was a awesome plane,,big tank with wings

Since I was born way after their production, I will have to get one from ebay. Either used or new, I will attempt to fly it at least once. Just to see what everyone was talking about.
When ah say when my PT19 get's an outing in the Summer I was thinking of cling filming the wings.
Good, bad or rediculous idea?

I bet that would help them fly quite a bit better. I would like to see how that works as well

Re: Comanche and other unknown needle valve
I have a ruff, old PT-19 that I redrilled the pushrod holes in elevator and bellcrank for more travel, added a blackwidow type engine, I plan to try a outside loop with it and/or inverted flight.
I'm sure covering the bottom would help some. I remember seeing in a magazine many years ago (when i was a kid) someone cutting flaps into the wing.

Re: Comanche and other unknown needle valve
Looks like we have the same problem. This one is a # 1929. So what does this go to?

Re: Comanche and other unknown needle valve
Hi Mud and Joe,
The packing gives it away: it says "190" and it was used in some of those engines.
I am confused. According the the Dannels/Sitter book, Cox discontinued the use of this needle on April 17th, 1964.
Would it be posible for you to make a scan of that ECL, i would like to see what they say and how they look.
Regards
Thomas Pedersen
