It looks like a re-bagged Topaz engine?

Re: NOS MECOA .15 ABC R/C
Well , crankcase says "MECOA",
sure I remember .15 Magnum Glow with same crankcase design .
Few month later Magnum had a new "XLS crankcase" design on the market .
Imagine ,
you can order engines with your name/logo engraved on,
aslong the number you order is BIG enough for good business........but for them.
To be honest,
I belive its more a glass-case/New collector item ,
but who knows ?.

Re: NOS MECOA .15 ABC R/C
Randy of MECOA seems to be an entrepreneur whose machining works as a subcontractor to various others earns him enough money to purchase liquidation stock and rights of companies going out of business. Some have not been happy with him because they'd like to see him be more active in supplying parts and new engines for the model engine market. Although a number are produced, many are just selling off remaining stock and a good number remain in out-of-stock status.
He is free to do as he pleases, which of course he does. Given the volatility of the market, the careful card playing as we gather by those who supply us Cox parts, one does not produce things just out of love. (Although, I admire the efforts here with various limited run parts and accessories produced at minimal profit for friendship and helping - I am referring to for example, the Tee Dee and Medallion radial engine mounts, special horseshoe backs, oversized anodized aluminum tanks and venturi holders, etc.)
Anyway, when one is interested in a new engine for use, relabeled doesn't change a quality engine, IYKWIM.
