hey, i found a ac gilbert american flyer .11 nib on ebay for 32$ with shipping, i have been looking at them for a while, should i get this motor, and what should i expect when i try to start it? thanks for any input

I would guess running is the same as any rear valve engine. Use 1/2a fuel if the piston uses a ball socket.

cool, i might get it, i thought the twin exsaust piped look awesome, that is what grabbs my attention

Yeah, they do look pretty slick - although they do nothing to muffle the noise!

There actually are not a bad engine, no powerhouse, designed to be easy to start and needle, Bob Holland and Hi Johnson were the primary designers not Fox, as many seem to believe.

Great Retro-Looking Engine !!!! If the Rocketeer flew model airplanes, THIS would be his engine !!!
I got a couple each .07's and .11's last year, and have run them on my stands. Think I read in the .049 Group that you have to be careful not to burn out the head with too many amps (AFTER I'd already ran them!), so you might start off on the conservative side if you're starting them with a power panel.
I was concerned that the high needle-valve position might cause some draw problems, but they seemed to still pull fuel up there OK.
The .11 is slated for flying my Lazy Bee at some point.
I got a couple each .07's and .11's last year, and have run them on my stands.
