Wanted for a Thimble Drome Mercedes-Benz W 196 model, manufactured in 1961, is the replacement part listed in the original document with the car :

Tough if not impossible to find. I'm sure that you have checked ebay. Very vulnerable part subject to damage. Look to pay big bucks if you find one.
The only source would be mudhen (do a search for him here and PM) but even he is looking for them.
Not so much for the knock-offs, they do show occasionally.
