that right thar is Cox 049, Doug Galbreath head, Nelson plug (should have been a few spares) Texas Timers Fine thread NVA

this engine is to force you to learn all about Pressure bladder fuel systems...go ask Rusty....evil grin

If you would prefer a more sedate engine and tank on that 1/2a plane feel free to use that TeeDee in trade for a newer Medallion....there are some here that will barter with you

Steve..do you have internet and WiFi in you home?

I may have a hand me down laptop to make your forum browsing easier than the method you now use

Judging by the size of the plug it is a TeeDee049 with a Nelson turbo plug. This is the strongest 049 engine of COX

Hi Fred!!! Least now I can thank you properly! You have made my week!  No..I ain't trading engines!...I love this thing. If I want slow i can putz around with a boring electric thing!   Wink   I had suspected there was a bladder thing involved here!...I have a lot of catching up to do don't I ?   No wi-fi here in the swamp....just an I-phone. I had a computer for awhile but not since it went obsolete in 2013. Was just getting the hang of it. .....never became very computer literate......So this engine will only run on a pressure system?

Yeah....annoying is an understatement!  And these touchscreens are a bane on mankind!
....oh and Fred...love the control handle! Custom made? All I could find was a cheezy green cox handle. No wonder we crashed a lot...what a difference!

No, that TD will run on a tank, problem with TD’s comes into play when used as a stunt engine. The venturi is enlarged from the factory for performance and it affects fuel draw as there is a loss of vacuum. The fine thread NVA allows you to run on pressure if needed.

If you don’t want to run in pressure then try it first on a tank, if you find it to be unsteady through maneuvers then do a bladder setup for a smoother run.
