What's the trick to registering on Stunthanger? Filled out the application and got a rejection email a couple hours later. Tried to reply suggesting they could get a reference for me from Rockin' Rusty, but the return email address (sparkyfl@charter.com) was rejected.
Any clues??

Have to use your real name for the user name. Once your registered then you can change your username to a handle. My first try was rejected when I used Jason_WI.

I did actually use my "oldenginerod" handle initially, but when I went back to retry with my actual name I couldn't register because it said that I couldn't register twice from the same computer. I might re-try with a different email address and see if that does it.

Nope. Tried again with my name, a different email and different password, but got this.
"Sorry, but you're not allowed to register multiple accounts at the same time from the same computer."

Sparky is not that easy to get a hold of. The email you have is correct. Your best bet is to PM Rusty and have him talk to Sparky directly.

If you can’t get a hold of Rusty let me know.

All good. I managed to register on another computer and they let me into the clubhouse Laughing

We'll wait and see how things go.

Hooray! Good for you. I keep here, RCG Engines CL Classifieds, and SH in heavy rotation on my phone...each has a shortcut to get to it.

You may find some very similar names over there.

It has still been messing me about. I registered with my "back-up" computer using my "back-up" yahoo email. I couldn't then login on my regular computer without swapping to another user which has my Yahoo email as a default. I think I've now sorted that out bu changing my profile email to my regular one. Mind you, I still haven't been able to figure out how to post, but then again, I only really plan on being a lurker. This forum is my real home I Love This Forum!

Hey Rod,
PM and tell me what kinds of glitches or inconsistencies between computers you still have, if any, and I'll make sure Sparky gets you fixed up. He has about 300 applicants a day, and many are spam pirates, so it's a daunting juggling act. But there's too much useful info over there to ignore... And I hear they have a great video hangout show every week for members too.

No problems Rusty. I got it figured. The big problem is that you gotta get your registration right first time, 'coz if you go back and try again it remembers and rejects your application. Once I got in and changed my email to my main one, it's working fine on my main computer. It's a Mac, but that has nothing to do with my problems.

I gotta say, I walked right in on a political bun-fight over there on Stunt Hangar. I need to be a little more careful with the discussions I open Crazy Eyes

He or whatever software he has installed might have it set up to reject email addresses of certain domains that have been connected to spammers in the past. That’s what is set up on here. On here, you also cannot register with email addresses that include words like “support”, “admin”, “registration”... I have a profane username filter set as well, so if your username spells out any of George Carlin’s 7 dirty words, even if it’s nested in the middle of your name, it will give you a registration error.
