Way more to come. Mark
Boo.
Beggars night (trick or treat), soaping windows, hanging bicycles from the statue in the town common. Pea shooters. All good clean fun.

Cool stuff Mark! As a kid in the late 1960's/early 1970's.. I used to wait for the SEARS CHRISTMAS CATALOG to be delivered in the mail. I don't remember when it would arrive.. but it was probably sometime before the Thanksgiving holiday.. to allow plenty of time to order.. or get to a store to shop in time for Christmas. Sears sold EVERYTHING that you needed. It's fascinating; that such a retail giant is no longer a player..

And I would like to know how the heck that happened!!!!
Well one name - Bezos. Raking in billions while paying his employees peanuts and limiting their benefits.

I truly miss the old days of the Sears stores and the set up of race car sets out to play with and Wish you had , never miss a chance to go there with the family It is a shame with all the online shopping now a days / plus the prices are better is a + but not the same as getting out there in the crowd

Me too Fred. What a step up from baseball cards and clothes pins, huh? A real upgrade to my Schwinn Stingray!
A couple of months ago, my wife and I were hanging out on the front porch watching a neighbor teach his 7 year old son how to ride a bike. She hollered out he needed to clip some cards on it. I said no, he really needs a Vroom! She'd never heard of that so I looked it up on the Net. Geez! People are asking $500 and up for them, some with no handlebar throttles too. Boy, I wish I still had some of that stuff I had when I was a kid. I could retire right now!

Perhaps for the most discerning collector for something that looks NOS, but at that cost, one could probably get a Chinese moped conversion kit for a bike and have a real powered bicycle.

One of the few ground-based toys I ever wanted...I think it cost around 12-14 bucks, and that put it WAY out of the Christmas budget. But, I was pretty adept at imagining sending it on assignments to vanquish my enemies!
