.09 Con Rod Hole

Re: .09 Con Rod Hole
Ice it is the first production runs of 049 and 09 TeeDee-s that came with that oiling hole. COX later may have recognized that the lubrication of crankpin is equally good without this hole and abandoned it to save manufacturing costs.
I was wondering if the large end of the rod with this oiling hole had a bit smaller diameter eye for the pin for a tighter pin to rod fit, that was also increased when the hole was abandoned, in order to facilitate the access of oil in between the pin and the eye, but I cannot measure such tiny differences if there is any at all. At least the pin to rod fit looks visually tighter in my old stock 049 TeeDees with the oiling hole on them.
