Today's Little Pick-Up
So the other day I got an email from a fellow local modeller. Someone he had just met had some old control line stuff he wanted to sell. So, when I saw what was for sale, I inquired right away. Made a deal over the phone and made arrangements to meet up. Well, today was the day! Also, in times past, I made mention of a little diamond I really was looking for. So, while we met up, I picked up all the following for a good deal. I am now officially an owner of a Cox TD .010! I guess it pays off to talk around to all people you meet up with. In the package is the following:
OK Cub .074
Cox Black Widow
Cox TD .010 came with optional backplate for external tank use and wrench
Cox Arctic Trainer with factory paperwork, and original elevator assembly(control rod mount broken at tip so was replaced), and decals fell off but are there and I will glue them back on.
Cox control line handle
Carl Goldberg control line handle
Thimble Drome U-Reely with .015 lines
Lil' Wizard with McCoy Mark II

With all that good karma, you should go buy a lotto. Ticket! That is a tremendous group of fun things to play with! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Great haul!
Tough to find the Arctic Trainer...period.
What is the yellow color on the fuselage to the starboard side of the rear pilot on the Arctic Trainer?

Love the arctic trainer. What a great find, the Canadian Cox items are definitely a little on the rarer side.
I am still trying to figure out what to do with my Canadian Spitfire. Put a Cox on that Goldberg Wiz and have some fun with it.

Re: Today's Little Pick-Up
DrCox, the yellow on the fuselage is what I believe to be some sort of contact cement. I just took a look and it is just on the outside. I will be cleaning it up today.
Cribbs74, my goal is to clean up the Black Widow and putting it on to fly it with. He also included a plywood firewall that rubber banded to the fuselage as was teh original nylon one. As for line length, I will see what was on the handles provided, and go from there.

Really nice find there! I've never seen an Arctic Trainer before either. Might look really cool with some skis on it.

Was there ever a full size Canadian PT-19 Arctic Trainer? And just what would you train for? Dying of hypothermia?

Nice! Something must be in the air as I have had luck scoring some great stuff lately as well. Welcome to the .010 Club! It is full of eccentric characters.

Re: Today's Little Pick-Up
Thanks all. My next move it to clean the McCoy engine, clean up the Lil Wizard, and figure out how to repair the original blue elevator. I am possibly going to just drill a new hole just above the break of the original hole and use it as is, unless I can find something to build it up to original.
