Just wondering if anyone knows. The pick up tube that is described in Gibeault engine tricks pdf.

When installing this aluminum pick up tube. Is it running fine without the normal spring inside that is usually used? I know it is felt this spring "wicks" the fuel up the inlet pipe. However this pipe when bent doesn't allow a spring to be inserted anymore.

Just curious.
Thanks

I think reedies can suck fuel without the capillary effect of the spring from much longer distance than the integral fuel tank. The spring is there to prevent the silicone tube from collapsing when bent inside the tank. Just my humble opinion...
