Cox Engine of The Month
And Finally...The Columbia, Illinois Swap Meet

And Finally...The Columbia, Illinois Swap Meet
So, another run up I-55, to Columbia, Illinois...about 20 minutes closer than yesterday's in Granite City.
Vince had stuff going on, so this was a solo run that almost didn't happen due to some early morning crankiness.
Got there and met up with some of the Breezy Hill Flyers, St. Louis Dan, and some others I'd seen the day before at Granite City. The tables were pretty sparse, but still had some stuff to look at, with several from the groovy 1960's & 70's.
This time, I DID buy a 1/2A plane...a Pipe Bomb-powered Baby Flite Streak. Probably gonna swap out the Testors engine for a Cox backplate engine and 3/8 oz wedge tank.
--------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
Gonna copy these to my old flying buddy, Kevin. Back when we were kids and only dreaming about being able to afford radio control airplanes, Kevin had an absolute obsession with the VK "Cherokee".
A nice-looking Pica "Duelist"...think Bernie has one of these hanging in his office.
A fellow had this glider launching caddy
And that's it for my Swap Meet's 'till the Mert's Landing Swap on April 27th!

Nice plane you bought yourself there. Thanks for the as-per-usual great report and pictures. Now, as per your plane, you may be right about the flaps, or possibly wrong as I see it, well, without a close up picture anyways. I had a Baby Lightning STreak years ago, and while building, I could not figure out how I was going to cover the wing. So, I personally contemplated it and covered the wing then glued on the 'flaps/wing extensions', which may be the case of yours, but if there was signs of hinging or such, you are right. The second, I just coverd as whole. Neither one made it home after the first outing.....

Good deal on the Flight Strek , the Testors engine probably kept the price down Looked like some good fun and i know how easy it is to not want to go early in the morning .

I blame Rusty for my purchase of the Flite Streak! Years ago (actually more than I'd care to think), I was a big fan of his methodical posts as he progressed in his stunt patterns...flying his beloved Streak in the local church yard.
Lacking his discipline, this Streak will still get some time flip-flopping around and other hijinks in my front yard...and I may give it to Patrick at some point.

Hey Kim, that's a Testors 8000, which overcame the dilemma of not being able to mount it easily, thus making them a little more popular than the "run-of-the-mill" pipe bomb. They run pretty well also.
I'm pretty sure someone was looking for one of those recently but can't remember who.
