Cox Engine of The Month
Dawn Power Dissolver
Dawn Power Dissolver
Dawn Power Dissolver was one of my most frequent tools for tearing down and cleaning up nasty gunked up engines until it mysteriously disappeared from grocery stores two or three years ago. I recently discovered several sources on evil bay for the Industrial/Institutional labeled version of what I presume to be the same product. When I was buying it at the grocery story it was about $3.75 for a 12.8 oz. spray bottle and I just rec'd a 32 oz. spray bottle from JP-Deals in Rockville, MD for 13.75 plus 6.35 shipping.

Re: Dawn Power Dissolver
I used to use it when it was in the smaller blue bottle. It worked very well. I remember when it was reintroduced in the larger white bottle you show. I have not used the new but I've heard mixed results in terms that it was stronger and corrosive to the aluminum turning it blotchy. I then read it worked equally as well as the old. I never soaked the parts when I used it, just sprayed and used a nylon brush. It sounded to me as though the others with negative results were soaking the parts. I always found a good spray and a rinse worked for me.

Re: Dawn Power Dissolver
I just tried it out. It seems to work, smell and feel just like the blue bottle stuff. On aluminum do not leave it set too long, but if you have an accident, aluminum polish will get the stains off.
