Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
I just noticed the fins were 90º off the norm - sideways. Was it a car engine? Does it have baffle on the piston?
Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
Naw That's not a car mota Matt there's no heat sink.
I'd say someone's rotated the head 90 when
reassembling.
Although having looked a little harder there is an odd looking
geared wheel on the 'prop driver'.......

by the way I think that is a .099
Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
It's an .099. I noticed the head as I was packing it up to mail it off this morning. Best thing to do is take the head off and check it out when it arrives. This engine just sat in a box the whole time I had it.
Good luck with it and enjoy,
Bob

Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
These came in a few different versions. The "S"-type was cross scavenge (baffle on the piston) and 1.6cc, while the SR (in the picture) was schnuerle ported , 1.8cc, and came both in steel/iron and ABC versions. A look in the exhaust port should tell the difference.

Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
Yes, below the 099 text on the case there are the letters SR, which means that it is schneurle ported. There are then two version of this too, one is steel/iron construction and one is ABC, but the marking on the case is the same for both (i.e. SR).
The S and SII had a baffle on the piston.
I have a few engines and the manual if anyone is interested in more photos.

Re: Wanted: .10 Size Glow Motor
I don't have any notes of tach numbers, but from memory the OS .10 FSR, for instance, performed better than the SII-version. The ABC SR should be better than the SII, but I haven't run mine yet. I have two NIB but got sidetracked...
