Yes Mauricio, I have just started to use WhatsApp but I am still trying to learn how it works. Our son has just traveled from Australia to Portugal for a holiday around Europe for about 3 months. He has just called us and sounds very unwell. Two days after arriving and the Jetlag has really kicked in. I think he feels homesick already.

Whatsapp is the best and cheapest way to communicate overseas. A friend of mine who travels to Europe regularly says it's very widely used. My other option was Facebook Messenger, but I will not sign up to Facebook, so WhatsApp was a far better choice. It is really simple to set up and calls are free (apart from a small amount of data.

It is not the place of commercials but I use Duo a video conferencing tool when talking with my daughter now living in Holland. It does not have the real time messaging feature of Whatsapp and Viber but way better for audio and video conferencing. Works on iphone and Android phones both.

Friends, I have a brother who lives in Spain with his family, some friends in Europe and England, a couple of nephews in the US, what we do is send messages and / or videos, photos, we do not try to talk live , since time differences are all in one theme.
Sometimes, when I'm in the field of flight, we have shared with a friend or a colleague, a record as a photo or video, for example, at the club flying some model. Since I do not speak English, we always try to understand each other, so it also becomes a form of learning and interpretation.
Yes, it is true, the world is full of dangers, one has to be prudent, but with many of you I have been related throughout these years, I can attest that they are good people and that is why I wanted to be somehow closer. Remember, if you want to make contact, exchange moments, send me an MP and we exchange numbers, only if it is your desire, otherwise, all this is fine as well. Thumbs Up
