Some 1/2A combat fun today at our Philly Fliers picnic
Today we had our annual Labor Day picnic with quite a turn out. My son and I were out flying some planes that needed the dust blown off. My Baby Flite Streak was calling and we grabbed that. It's a Brodak Baby Flitestreak Norvel .061 powered on a metal tank. Our Facebook designer Rich Martinez caught a short bit of video of my son Shawn flying Larry Wilks. Larry has been a up and coming combat flier over the past few years but just recently started to dabble in 1/2A. I built Larry's plane which is a Phil Cartier Foamie which utilizes Phil's Lil Hacker wing. Phil originally designed these planes for Cox Black Widow engines. It took quite a bit of re design to get the Norvel to fly the Hacker with authority and prowess.
Unfortunately, I can't view the videos as I receive a error message. I can view pictures from the web page. It's neat to see a woodie flying in a match as all you see anymore is foamie planes. My Streak is also silkspan and dope. Mine as mentioned is on suction using a 1 oz. Brodak wedge while Larry's plane is on bladder pressure. Both planes fly on 42' Spiderwire center to center. I hope the clarity is good as it can be difficult to see 1/2A's flying.

Kim, here's the 3 Streaks I brought with me today. Not in order but fun stuff. The ARF Streak, The Baby Flite Streak and my giant .60 size Flite Streak. That was a blast flying today, I wish I had two because my son and I would've been going at it. https://www.facebook.com/PhillyFliersCL/photos/a.605410626195742/2191025190967603/?type=3&theater
