Cox Super Power Fuel
I sent a e-mail due to going to Tower Hobbies website. Tower no longer even lists the fuel. Sadly, this fuel is no longer available. I really liked the fuel and it worked exceptionally well. In fact, I liked it more than Sig fuel which was my staple 1/2A fuel for years. Well it just goes to show, buy it while you can. Ken

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Figures... While it may have had a small following among the 1/2A crowd. It just wasn’t enough to justify continued manufacturing.
I just don’t see that many people needing to use it. It’s frustrating. I might start stockpiling fuel of all types at this point.
I don’t like being forced to change. I appreciate Electric and Gasoline power, but I don’t want them to be the only option in powered models.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
That's a shame Ken. I tried searching CEF for the fella's name (from Tower/Hobbico) that stepped-up and oversaw the proper reformulation of the Cox Super Power Fuel that was being sold through Tower Hobbies. I thought I'd saved some info in my archives.. but couldn't find anything.
We can only guess what's going-on with Tower Hobby's management. The company's demise was a a tough pill to swallow. I did a LOT of business with Tower over the years.. and they always delivered on the customer-service end of the business. On the seldom times that I had an issue with a product.. they took care of it right away.. always.
The new Cox fuel formula was being made somewhere. We just need to find out where.

Yeah, I thought about him too. Seemed like a really good guy, and I bought several of those bottles from Schaefer's Hobby Shop in St. Louis.

I do remember that. Somehow the name John rings a bell. I can say at our last 1/2A day, the Cox fuel was offering some decent flights. I liked the smell of the Cox fuel as well. It had a sweet smell. It reminded me of Wildcat fuel.

Hobbico product manager Dave Sproul (Kruzn) is the guy https://www.coxengineforum.com/t7143-cox-super-power-fuel#89717
With Hobbico's financial issues lately, they are likely dropping everything that isn't a mega seller.

I have 2 bottles of each 25% and 35% unopened that I have squirreled away. That stuff was on backorder for months earlier this year.

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
In my e-mail I made certain inquiries. The fuel as I was told was not going to be made available. They offered no reasoning, just that this product has been discontinued and will no longer be offered. That's pretty much that and I have returned to Sig . I have also made inquiries to Randy Ritch of Ritch's brew. I have a local fuel supplier here Stan of S&W. I just can say I never really had many positives using it.

If you don't mind adding castor the 10% oil in the race car fuel could be
balanced out with 12% castor. See here for various types in stock:

Re: Cox Super Power Fuel
Something I noted about Torco, they were offering Nitromethane by the gallon with free shipping for around $60 for quite some time. I use a lot of nitro due to the large combat engines. Therefore, my 1/2A fuel was being consumed by the gallons. I nearly used 2 gallons between combat and 1/2A last season. Between the cost of the fuel and the glow plugs, this puts a bit of a downer on flying the big stuff as it can get pretty pricy. I was purchasing nitro from a local and no longer available supplier at $10 a qt. He never wanted to sell it to me. He was always in a panic and feared that he was somehow going to cause trouble selling it to me. I quickly insured him what I was doing with it and gave him a bit of a show in doing so. He said that nitromethane could not be sold legally as a product and therefore had to be sold mixed as a fuel. I noticed that Torco no longer offers nitro on Ebay and wondered about what my supplier mentioned. It's just one of those chemicals on the " Do not have" list. Going to the Torco site I noticed you have to fill out a lengthy form to purchase it.
