Cox Engine of The Month
Single-channel ROARING 20 plane with escapement and Cox .020 - $50 US.

Single-channel ROARING 20 plane with escapement and Cox .020 - $50 US.
This is a rare collector's item. It's a single channel "Roaring 20" plane from the 1960's. It is equipped with a "Babcock Mark II Super Compound" escapement and a clean Cox PeeWee .020 engine which turns smoothly with excellent compression.
The wingspan is 21"; the fuselage is in good condition and well built from balsa: the wings are balsa & tissue but the tissue has a few holes that are taped up. I do not have the box in the photo but it shows the original kit. The price is $50 US. Buyer pays extra for shipping from Canada. Payment by Paypal.

A good way to host images is to create an account with a website called "imgur". What you will then do is upload your image and then you can copy the URL link and paste it here.
Are you able to email a picture?
Thanks

Does it come with a transmitter?

No. It does not have a transmitter or receiver, only the engine and escapement.

That is a smart looking airplane. Strong "classic" look... Patience in building and finishing.

TicTac,
I see you are from my Hometown. I lived in London from 1985-1993.
I am interested in the plane, but wonder what the shipping cost is to Tuttle OK 73089

Ron,
It may be cheaper to drive up here. Canada Post wants $65.76 if I put it in a box 24"x19"x8"(3 lbs).
If I squeeze it into a box 24"x12"x7" they still want $44.73 but it could be damaged in shipment with less packing.
If you just wanted the engine and escapement (without the plane) shipping would be more reasonable ($10-$15).

Wow, that is a lot.
I love the plane, especially the RCAF theme, have no need for the engine or escapement.
I do plan on making a trip up that way, but that may be a few months out.

I quoted Canadian dollars for shipping so it would be less for you.
If I keep the engine and escapement and only ship the plane, I can lower the price a bit.
The engine weighs only 28 g. so it doesn't reduce the shipping cost.
The total cost to you would be $67.00 US (includes shipping).
If there are duties or customs fees at the border, you would have to cover that.
Still interested?

I think I’ll pass. As much as I would like to have it, I think someone closer could benefit from it more than myself.
Thanks anyways,
Ron

I agree the shipping is outrageous over that border, in either direction.
Thanks for your interest, anyway.

I have that model Pee Wee engine still new on the card, but would like one as a runner, if you will separate it from that fine looking model? The escapement might interest an early radio collector, and the shipping would be a lot less expensive for the smaller items.
You can reach me at wgadair@comcast.net, if your interested in selling the engine. Paypal is available for payment.

Engine Sold
The Cox PeeWee has been sold separately and the plane is still available.
The escapement has been removed and put up for sale on eBay.
