Thanks Roddie! ... for some time I wanted to do something with the bullet and it occurred to me to build a fuel tank, the idea was made concrete and I enjoyed sharing with you, even more, with such good approval by the CEF group!
A big hug friend!
Mauricio did you remove the bullet from the shell to remove the gunpowder and how did you defuse the fuse (pun intentional...) I mean the primer?
András, my friend ... I am going to tell you and it causes me some humor, given that it scares me but I learned! LOL...
Well, very carefully and slowly remove the bullet from the capsule, that was not a problem, it came out perfectly and I emptied the capsule, after that step, I did not know how to deactivate the fulminant (I do not know if it is like that everywhere) , it is the accessory that when hitting the hammer, it ignites and that ignites the gunpowder, here it is known as fulminating, well ... I started looking on the internet how to deactivate it and I found that submerging the capsule in hot water for 30 minutes , the fulminating is deactivated .... LIE, FALSE ... in my experience it was not like that .... after submerging the capsule in hot water, place alcohol to wash the interior, everything that could have remained of gunpowder and fulminante, then I started with the perforations, I made two one to load fuel and the other for air outlet, plus a third to place a peak, to accommodate the neoprene hose ... Everything came in handy! .... then place the copper tube (hosepipe) and I started to heat the sector with an electric soldering iron, then join with tin .... suddenly Boom ... an explosion .... then I checked that the fulminant was still active. Then I started to inspect and it had disappeared completely, leaving a hole in its place ... so, with a strawberry I worked in the hole and then filled with tin creating a stopper ...
Sorry for the quality of these photos ... they are from my cell phone

Well that could have ended very badly
I'm glad that you didn't get hurt.

Thanks for the description. I was also wondering how you went about making the fuel tank. Did you also make the stand from plexi-glass?

Yes! ... Something told me that could happen, that extra instinct or Guardian Angel ... so the capsule when trying to solder, take it in a walrus with address and situation that I did not put at your fingertips , clear that the noise scares, but not being directly exposed, can not touch me .... .....I want to continue here with you a good time!

Friend, a pleasure to share experiences ... with respect to support, yes, it is an acrylic piece that is used for posters.
The cutting process, I recommend cutting with manual saw, because if an electric saw is used, the speed of the saw causes the acrylic to melt, re-welding between the pieces and generating an unwanted paste.
The hand cut is very good and then you can finish with file and sandpaper, to finally polish (also by hand) with extra fine sandpaper.
The base cut in a circle was made with a cutting tool taken from a mandrel (which I did with an electric machine), then I finished the cutting surface with file and sandpaper, polishing that cut and being very nice.

Roddie ... I share your comment 100%, it is beautiful to recover something and give it new life ....roddie wrote:Mauricio, it is nice to see you use (repurpose/recycle) materials for your modelling hobby! Imagination knows no limits.
That acrylic which I recycled, was recovered from the street by my brother and what was trash for someone, it became something appreciated for me, just a little passion, a little imagination and the result in sight ... tell me It's not beautiful??? I have it on my desk and I love it!
Thanks Roddie for your friendship!

Mauricio You must never sit still.
I loved that picture from the moment I saw it. What skill and imagination. The little Cox flag really tops it off.
Congratulations on a well deserved win among winners.
