RE: Halfaworks Skyline FX049
Troy,I really like the Scapel kit and I believe you may have gotten a Beta kit from Steve Adams..
Getting the built up wing version is OK because I bought straight and tapered wing Ace foam wing sets before he ran out.
I got two DNU (Das Not Ugly) kits that are still available from Select Hobbies.
I regret that that I bought only one of the Blink Delta kits before they all sold out never to be available again.
I will use the Blink kit as a pattern when I build one and keep the original kit intact.
Someone had a YouTube vid of a Blink(as in don't) flying with VA.049 that was so fast that you only saw a launch and a landing!
I really got hooked on delta wings when I had to refuel and arm missiles on F-106 Delta Darts in the ANG.

Yeah, the Scalpel was a beta. Actually, it was pre-beta. I used carbon tow fiber to make "spars" on the top and bottom of the Ace wings. I was never happy with the snakeskin finish when I covered the wing with the low temp plastic. It has provided hours of fun flying over the years. I'd like to see someone try one with a TD .09.

Sorry we hijacked a cool engine thread...
It was Teebees build on RC Universe that I found after talking with Skaliwag AKA Steve Adams
The in Jan 2012 Teebee has two threads on the Scalpel and his other cool planes...
pity that something is hosed on CEF for photos in older threads not showing any more

Looks very similar, doesn't it? If you want to build one, I'd recommend contacting Steve Adams of Select Hobbies. I'm sure he could get ya started. Tell him Tee Bee sent ya.
