Re: Worth a try??!!
no, sure would not
But like I said, don't take our little rants too serious. I would
probably try to get the best price out of what i'm selling as well
,if i would own a large ebay store. But, as i do not, I reserve my
right to nag a little about high prices

I apologize if I offended anyone. My intent was not to condemn his price, but to help. Maybe it was a little too much. I have been corrected on my asking price before, and took it lightly and as helpful information.
His engine may be worth that in a few years!

They aren't so much "rants" as "whines" like from a weak puppy. (Rants have far more gusto and fire)
Engine and parts vendors only exist because they ask a reasonable return on their investments. (ask Bernie OR Matt)
It is also true that when demand goes up prices soon follow as with gasoline during the summer months.

If a dealer has the right to charge ludicrous amounts for something, then I reserve the right to "whine" about it!

Re: Worth a try??!!
While I'd never condone someone getting ripped off, I think there IS a certain amount of dues paying/education that has to happen when someone sets out to buy or sell anything in new field where they're still learning, ESPECIALLY on the Internet.
I once bought a shooting vest, and paid nearly three times the value of the thing. It looked REALLY cool on it's hanger in a local gunshop, and I had burning cash in my pocket. I plunked down my money, and didn't find out 'till later that I could have gotten a BETTER one for about a third of the price.
I could hardly fault the gunshop owner for my ignorance, and just wrote it up to a learning experience...although it STILL pains me to slide into that vest!
We've all got a learning curve, and there's nothing like a little shot in the wallet to move us down that curve a little faster!
This Bozo is parked right in the middle of a sea of Cox engines, and any sensible person would have to ask themselves, "OK, so what IS different about this engine when the others are going for a fraction of the price?"
Just my thoughts...

I think that the important word there is "reasonable" no-one expects people to be in business for love alone, a "reasonable" return is one thing, what we are discussing is something quite different.

Kim has well articulated a point that is just part of the game of buying and selling. (And indeed it is a game)

try
This Troll has some hi-end items and most likey pretty well off. Likes to taunt others with his toys and puts them out beyond most means. If you get a reply its just a small ass response. As soon as I see an items with his name shut it off. He plays a sick game and enjoys it. Don't feed the Troll's.

For all the good that it will do, go right ahead an "whine" while we smile. .

Did I not include a large '"smilie" to soften my remark in a good-natured fashion?

Yep, you (Dan) probably remember the crap with this guy several years ago. The worst thing you can do is to respond.
