I went and visited the Presidential Annex at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. I believe that's the Columbine Connie there. Very cool to see. I remember one of the facts explaining the plane in that Eisenhower was also the first president to fly in a helicopter.

A worthy enterprise.

I have always had a soft spot for the Super Constellation. In 1958 Audrey and I with four month old Susan on her lap flew non stop from Pensacola to Logan airport in Boston on an Eastern Airlines Super Connie. I think I have posted a picture here before.

As I remember the seating was tight and the cabin long and thin. One of my more memorable flight experiences.
