Cox pinto funny car

I have come into possession of a Cox pinto funny car and eliminator top fuel dragster. The Pinto has never had fuel on it, never used, put in the closet when received as a gift. Have everything, never used, still packaged parachute, cover, motor spins nicely. Do not have the box. Looking to sell both cars.

I was thinking $650 for both, comes with two cans of unopened 40 year old fuel.

W E L L, I just placed 2nd and 3rd in two different classes in the COX tach race. I don't have the cash your asking for.....but would be willing to run for "Pink Slips" your Pinto, or Rail against my '65 Vette..... lol!

The cars are very nice, I don't really mess with Cox cars, but the price seems a little high?

Maybe others can weigh in.

I have found just the pinto car in rough condition for $150-$200 and the top fuel just the car in rough condition for around $450. On eBay. Everything is included. The parachute pack goes for $75 on eBay also. I have some close us also if anyone wants to see them but I can't post them yet...hasn't been 7 days yet.

I think if you want to maximize your selling price, the open auction format is the best. I've seen them go for $35 to over $400. Look up "Sold Listings" for Cox dragster or Cox Pinto to see what they actually sell for. ( 0n e bay). The more original they are the more they'll bring, i.e.: boxes, instructions are important to true collectors.

Here's a link to a eBay search of completed sales ( search: cox dragster) this is good to use to help get an idea of what a fair price should be on some toys. The asking prices are not really high, but are toward the top of what they've been bringing.

By the way, the red dragster's motor does not turn anymore but can be cleaned and freed up and used again maybe. That's what I was going to do.
