Doc took the bandages off today. Had very little scaring due to the use of super glue . I asked if he had to use a kicker. He just looked at me like Huh? Been hitting PT super hard and am very happy with my results so far.... wrote:

That's great news Bio Joe. Positive results like that can give a whole new attitude on life.

I have three plates and thirteen screws holding my right leg/ankle together a result of a ladder fall at about your age. A good orthopedic surgeon and a couple of months of exercise and I was as good as new.

That is good news - I like to hear of the successes from those who want it to work. The only ones I know who aren't happy with it didn't follow up with physio and the correct exercise to support the operation (or expect perfection!)

Not on the fence, trying to jump over it!! Made an appointment with the surgeon who has done knees for a good friend and a couple of relatives. I was looking forward to getting some pain relief and more mobility! Instead I had a bunch of X-rays and movement studies that indicated I'm not that bad off??. He shot both knees up with cortisone and I got a full nights sleep with out being woke up from knee pain, and now (one day after shots) can walk easier and stairs aren't so intimidating. sending me to PT to strengthen some knee cap muscles and re visit in 3 to 6 months. He echoed what my PCP has been telling me for decades: Eat less, Exercise More, lose (a bunch) of weight to take the strain off those poor knees. Yeah ,Yeah easy for you to say!!
Glad to hear you are doing well and recovering quickly!

Marlesky

brother oh brother!!!

If YOU have ANY alternative to surgery... Do every thing to try and follow Doc's suggestions

If this is the near impossible task of losing (assumed a lot of) weight.. Hell brother lean on your CEF buds...

Most all of us "been there done that failed..tried again, failed,  and then got back up--- kind of fellers"..

Rusty is my personal hero and inspiration..jest saying...or how about RSV Bob...very very old fart (mucho  sorry bob)  still doing the
"Move 6 tons of Coal and what do you get" = Bony fingers... OK Ok ...very poor WVA Ref ..but still true

ANY Thing is preferable to getting cut on.... once cut... YOU ...Still have to lose the weight!!

NOW, or later,------- YOU --------still HAVE to loose the weight....

Logic... Lose weight...no knee surgery ...
Knee surgery..required weight loss... logic

dictates--- you should very seriously TAKE the NO SURGERY path

WE will help...trust me brother we WILL Help
