I always like it when big boxes arrive

I always like it when big boxes arrive
I ordered this about a week ago from Nitro Planes when it went on sale for $99.00 shipped.
Four channel R/C with everything you need to fly. It went together in about 20 minutes with no problems except the mount for the stand came off, I reattached with epoxy taking the place of just a single dot of hot melt glue.
Charged up the battery and lit it off. You better hold on tight when powering it up, that electric motor does create some wind.
They always pack these nice.
Tiny, tiny servos
Nice attention to detail
No landing gear, ready to toss into the air

I'm jealous. I wish I thought of it earlier and I would have ordered one too.

Re: I always like it when big boxes arrive
Just a tad under 26" Eric. Light as a feather, fly on a no wind day.
Once I damage it beyond foam CA repair I plan on transfering the the radio over to either Kim's plane or perhaps my Aircrate. If I do the Aircrate it would be 3 channel only and I will have to split the top wing and build in some dihedral.
Like Eric, I have six acres but strategically placed trees make long line C/L impossible, but I can fly a small R/C around and above the tree line if I'm careful. If/when I do catch a tree it wouldn't be the first time. Remembering when I fished my Lanier out of a pine tree in a school yard.

Re: I always like it when big boxes arrive
Bob that is a good buy and a great looking fun toy
I am a true Glow snob but have to admit
When I retired I directly went to RC (had the bucks) because as a kid I was too poor and was jealous of the RC guys while I fought to get a few flights in with bad batteries low fuel, dead plugs, and not that good CL flying ability
At the RC clubs recommendation I put the Balsa ARF Tower trainer and .60 engine on hold and ordered a 40 sized foamy electric trainer
Right out of the box it set up ad did exactly what was advertised....... but it bored me real fast
This was just as many club members were transitioning to gas from glow and a few others found the Hobby king or other cheap and good looking foam RTFs...
Many of the P 51, P 40s and other foam RTF military models started showing up and a few members just hauled the just arrived box the field, assembled it, charged the Battery while BSing, and flew the beautiful bird
There are a few of the RTF planes that look so good I would like to buy several sans flight gear to just hang in my shop
