Re: Hanging the TD's -1 and 3
Finished this morning. Kind of lost in the crowd. I might have to move the electric Bearcat over to decongest.
I also knocked the tool marked Royal Spitfire powered "Sky Leader" out of kilter while hanging the TD's. Got it years ago as mostly scrap balsa. Ron Cribbs ID'd it for me as I had no idea what it was. Considering what I had to start with perhaps my best reconstruction. I kept the original owners pins sticking out of the fuselage along with a couple of other oddities. Wing was splinters and it had no tail section.
From the internet. So many of my pictures wind up there. Kim's too and probably some of your's.

The TD’s look good hanging in their places and a very unique part of Cox history….The old Enterprise plane is pretty cool too….That little solid balsa boat that I have was made by them as well…. Looks like Enterprise had kind of a solid log approach to their kits…. Maybe a competitor with Scientific?…. But they didn’t last as long apparently….

It's difficult to find anything with the Enterprise brand. This down your alley Free Flight is presently on ebay for $79 and they did market plastic accessory kits.

You’re tempting me with Champion “36” Bob !! .. . Would be a sweetheart with my
.039 Cub on it….Got too many irons in the fire though
My little Enterprise boat I’ve posted before…. Instructions are dated 1955….The box indicated a Space Bug Junior was included ..,, I got it from America’s Hobby Center around 1980 for about $3.00… But the engine had already been pirated and I’m sure sold separately for a higher price…Anyway, my little piece of Enterprise…

That's neat Robert.
I bet with your woodworking skills you could duplicate that boat exactly then equip it with a Space Bug Jr.. If you don't have any I could send you one. I would be proud to see one of my engines sitting in your reconstructed boat.

That is a nice gesture Bob and kindly appreciated…. But what if were the other way around? ….. I send you the boat for your display room and let it see some daylight…. I haven’t done anything with it in the last 30 yrs and have no plans to….Would give me a good excuse to build something else
Robert

That would be something that I would like Robert. But your going to need it for dimentions and referance. You turn a duplicate, then we will talk. Engine for a boat............I like it!

Deal, I'll even pick out a SB Jr. that has a chance of running.
But, look what you started. I have kicked around glow boat engines for years but never acted. I just made an offer on these two. One with a great story.
I couldn't pass this one up. Neglected, beat. Has me excited! Missing the cylinder (I have plenty) that someone tried to replace with a Cox cylinder. Cylinders being harder than cases the threads are probably stripped. I think the shafts casing is slightly bent too. More fun.
But this one. Sellers discription:
My Boyhood Sea Fury which powered a kit boat back it the day. Turns over with a satisfying pop and is clean and complete.
Please note the ping pong balls dated '56 and initialed. These were tied to the engine in case of a loose engine or "high speed disintegration".
Stand and balls included (currently cracked and fragile) if desired.
1956 the year I joined the Navy and went to Pensacola (The seller is a Floridian.)
My present only claim to fame for boats and boat engines.
And growing Mark. One day my son will turn all of it back into cash. Fine with me, I have had my fun with it.

Perfect ….. Vintage boats, engines, and hardware could be its own fun little trail to follow…. Those little outboards are beautiful…. The castings and other additions by the engine manufacturer make them that much more appealing …
