Running my Sportsman .15

Well while the glue is drying and rain clouds around thought I would run this old Cox .15 I have never heard one run or had the pleasure . 25% Nitro 7x6 woodie prop was all I had that fit at the time 12,800 was the best rpms , you ck. the tach reading ?/ Huh...

Nice vid man! Yup them .15's have a good angry bark to em. The cox .15's are some of the loudest .15's around beside some of the mini pipe equipped speed .15's. My medallion .15 is crazy loud too but flies my sig buster nicely. 12.8K is not too bad. We need to get ya down here some time so you can fly with us! Very Happy

that sounds sweet! Very Happy

you should drill and tap out an old .15 head so you could put normal os glow plugs in it. So you don't have to pay $22 dollars + shipping for an OEM glow head!
or you could but one that is done for you from mecoa

Ok. I have to question you on your fuel. The case of fuel I see hooked up is 5%, not the 25% stated. Beer Cheers

Good one New lol Just what I needed after I just went through a deal with a guy on a super bee with the wrong cyl. on it Whee , I think he had a Cox brain implant and was trying to give me one lol!

But its all good in the end we sorted it out , but still asking question about stuff HE SHOULD KNOW Rolling Eyes

Enjoyed your bloopers Eric, at least we didn't see any blood. I have forgotten to turn on the switch on my flight box too and discovered too late that an engine was running backwards.

I had a Sportsman .15 too, sold it when I "got out of the hobby". Good runner as I recall. The prop shaft is a little sloppy, I remember seeing a four stroke on a plane that was completely worn out but still ran and flew.

all you need to do to fix that is find some brass or copper or bronze tube with the inside diameter of the crank.then with your drill press drill a hole the same diameter of the outside of the tubing. then press it all together and you have a replaceable bearing ! Very Happy
