SOLD! Used Cox medallion- sold

Post  Dane Martin Thu Feb 11, 2016 6:22 pm

This is in reasonable condition aesthetically, but it runs great. The back plate is chewed up. But, i have removed it with a Cox wrench and it is free. The molded venturi looks a little worn or melted, but it's only at the outer edge. Doesn't affect the run. The glo head is new. I went through this engine and flew it on a plane for a while, but switched that to a reed valve engine.
$15 and I'll cover shipping. Please pm me any questions.

Hi there Dane. Not like the other site we are on, but here you have to use an image hosting site. I am not 100% sure, but there may be a delay before you can post photos. If needed, I can post them for you if you need.

Hi Dane. It is a week or so before new members can post URLs, which includes links to servimg.com, the image host that's embedded in our text editor. When you do post pics, you can use any host you like. I like Photobucket because you can handle a number if pics at once. Servimg is convenient and quick for one pic at a time.

How do you do damage like that to the back end of a tractor engine?

Using the forbidden tool on a Cox engine...PLIERS!

When we were kids we did not know better and in this case the cox tool is hard to use if the back plate is real tight or castor locked

so the next best thing that worked but leaves the part ugly was a set of pliers or channel locks to break the BP loose so we could get the rod off and put on a new cylinder

Yeah, poor thing. Like i said, it's ugly but it runs great. It came like that on a plane i bought for my daughter. Replaced the glo head and cleaned it up a bit. She flew it a little, but wanted a stunt bee. I'm just trying to get some of these engines to people that will use them....

SOLD! Re: Used Cox medallion- sold

Post  Dane Martin Sat Feb 13, 2016 3:25 pm

Thanks bro, i believe it's sold though. I just thought some one would like to use it. I'll probably be tarred and feathered for saying this, but I'm not a huge fan of the medallions.... I know, i know. They have lots of merits. Not enough rpm for me, lol.

I'm not looking for the money aspect as a reason for selling. But looking around, i have way too much stuff in this apartment. I got more to post. Once i can post pics, I'll put up some nice engines. Stay tuned!
