NIB OS Pet .099
NIB OS Pet .099
NIB OS Pet .099. Been kept oiled and free, awesome compression and a beautiful example of an early OS. I believe this is the second generation, after the one w/ integral tank, so early 60's.
With inner and outer box and instructions. $ 55 or best offer shipped in the conus, paypal please.

Nice OS PET .099. Might want to change the thread title and description from Enya to OS.

The first generation (mid/late fifties) was similar to yours except it had only two head screws (fore and aft). I believe they had trouble with the head warping so the two other head screws were added. I believe they sold for $4.95 originally.
Although looking into the exhaust it appears to have a flat piston, it actually has a "step down" baffle on the intake side of the piston.
I don't remember one with integral tank, but by early sixties I was in the NAVY. During that time I loaned/gave my early ones away.

Nice engine. Looks like a real early one with the smooth head. I have one the same only with head fins. Got it when it was real old in a box of junk. Bought a new NVA (of a later model) and made some gaskets and even with hardly any compression the thing still ran ok. Near impossible to get parts for now. Next model with the 4 bolt backplate is much easier to find parts. Someone has started a thread on here looking for a Pet NVA.

Actually, OS website manufacturing timeline shows the first model Pet with the two head screws as 1957 and my model with the finned head and four screws as 1959 so if yours had the smooth head and four screws it looks like you had about a 1958 model.
