Re: How's the weather?
Rod the company I am working with - with myself in particular- is working on retrofitting solutions to reduce water consumption of thermal power plants around the world and thus save water for communities, and we have just teamed up with a consultant in Perth to jointly explore opportunities Down Under for us to bring relief to drought stricken water consumer plants.. I know this sounds too epic but trust we really will be able to help save water in a way or another in Australia and elsewhere.

Re: How's the weather?
I'd rather not talk about it..... It is cool and very windy here. However, yesterday I went south to Grand Forks for the day, and they were calling for a storm to roll in. However, it stalled out over the ND/SD border. Apparently though it is hitting Fargo right now. Also to note, the Red River is rising quickly hence why I decided to go quickly as I think the highway will be closed possibly next week on our side. The water levels on teh way to Grand forks were very high too as the water was within a foot or so along the highway. And a friend in the Twin Cities called me and told me it was pretty crappy there yesterday.

Re: How's the weather?
Crazy here in RI (US-New England) Volatile weather in the last 12 hrs. Calm/sunny high-60's/low-70'sF early morning.. scattered T-storms mid-day turning to sunny and HOT/Muggy in the early-afternoon. My truck's interior was HOT when I got out of work at 4pm. It was warm and muggy.. prompting me to switch-on my trucks' AC for the 1st time this season. I was happy to feel the cool air. The 15 min. ride home from work was sunny and clear. By 5pm it was DARK... and starting to poor. The lights flickered a few times between 5 and 6pm.. but we didn't lose power. By 7pm.. it was once again sunny and calm. Time to throw some burgers on the grille!!
Re: How's the weather?
Well, that's the end of the fine weather here by the look of it- missed another flying season
Cold, wet & windy yesterday and today, same for the rest of the week. Got to a Max of 6ºC today, which is awfully cold for these parts. Luckily I managed to get up on the roof the other day and clear my wood-fire flue which blocked last year. Not easy with one arm.
Ski resorts got a couple of feet of snow about a month early. My son was due to head up the mountains in a month for work (he's a cook) but they called him up early and he leaves in a little over a week. That means I'll need to pull his van into the shed and go over it before he leaves. Already had 3 weeks off work. Not looking forward to getting the hands dirty again. Officially off for another 3 weeks according to doctor's orders.

Hey Rod.. I'm sending some positive energy your way. Try to stay off the roof until you're healed.. ok? As far as going-over your sons' van is concerned.. ( my ..) have "him" do whatever he can.. with your supervision. He can still be a cook.. with a minor in mechanics.. which may help, if he ever breaks-down on the road.
Take it slow and easy dude... like your doctor advised. Guys our age don't heal as fast as we used to.

Re: How's the weather?
First frosts for the season here. Man, it was crispy yesterday. Sun was out but the chill hung around all day. Thick fog set in last night as we were making our way home. Nearly missed our own street
Another day about the same today. A little hard on the fingers first thing out in the workshop.

Re: How's the weather?
Funny, my last contribution to this post was talking about our first frost. Well yesterday we had our first "stinker' of a hot day. Generally around 40º Celcius throuout our state. Big panic because there are already hundreds of bush fires burning in the states to our north. (Southern Hemisphere, hotter to the north, colder to the south). Well yesterday we had a strong northerly wind which blew smoke down from the fires up north, but it also whipped up dust storms in our drought stricken areas, carrying it up high into the stratosphere. I couldn't get a picture as I drove west at dusk last night, but we had the reddest sunset you'll ever see. At 4pm we had a severe cool southerly change with light rain. As the thunderstorm hit (sparking fires through lightning strikes) you could see through breaks in the cloud cover these huge rolling clouds of brown dust.
This is the result.
This dust has travelled hundreds of km's and just about every car in the state left outdoors looked like this. A good time to own a carwash

No snow here in S.E. Missouri...just plenty of damp gloom...
That’s how it looked like around here too, for several weeks, until Friday when the temperature very suddenly dropped several degrees in a couple of hours, and it started snowing. Yesterday and today we have noticed a round bright yellow object (forgot what it’s called) lingering just above horizon for a couple of hours around mid day. From our morning walk yesterday:
Got to watch out for those ”fewoucious wabbits”

Re: How's the weather?
Yesterday, the Philadelphia area was in the 40's. A bit chilly but a handful of us made it to the flying field. Cox equipment was in order for the day. I was very pleased to have one of my TD's in good working order. I purchased it in the 80's and it never worked correctly. The other evening, after taking it apart, I discovered that the case was drilled for crank pressure. I plugged the hole with a small piece of music wire and JB weld and all was good. We had some .020 Pee Wee's on free flights entertaining us and it was a terrific day.
