Well, Walt once said to me, "Kari, I am now going to be Frank."
I said "OK".

You're absolutely correct -- another senior moment. We were discussing computing careers with Walt Disney in the office today and my aging brain didn't make the transition.

Hoot !!! Frankly, you guys are great!
But there WERE other model airplanes by Walt that were NOT of the Hollow Log Variety---witness my long-suffering, and several times re-engined and reincarnated BIG OTTO !!!!

24" w/s that is a Big Otto ! Kim dose that plane fly as good as it crashes ?? lol The plans look like a pretty easy build ? I put it in me Q hehehe I guess the pan cake engine means no tank and the compartment behind is for that and not for extended run (connected to the Bee) the way it looks . I have a wing model actual 2 of the same I don't recall what the name is and put a wheel on the front like this one cause ever time I pulled it out of the stooge it would do mini loops and crash in the first 2 ft. It needs recovering now but if you know the name would be great it was a double 2 in one kit . . . I would like to know where the CG is suppose to be! right now its about 1-1.25 off the LE I haven't flown it since I put the wheel cause I need to recover it > maybe a new elev. getback

Looks like Top Flite Combat Kittens double kit
My plans show the CG right behind the LE where ribs attach to the formed LE

Yep! It flys great, except when it's owner sticks a Terminator engine on it's snout and then can't keep up with what's happening !!!
Fred's right, your wing is a Top Flite Combat Kitten. Mine balances on the backside of the leading edge stock also. It WILL do stooge launces pretty nicely, though now the engine nacelle is coming loose and, and the old cat needs a little work !

Barry Baxter does not have the Big Otto plan and I want to add this to my fleet of vintage combat planes
Kim's JPG is unreadable when blown up to see details
Any one know where I can find this plan?
Gonna search some more later

Another day, a bunch of masking, and a little Brodak Dope. Unfortunately, my reproduction decals from Brodaks had dried and cracked after 5-6 years of storage. Did the best I could, but will probably get another set with my next order. A little more detail, white canopy, trim lines and such.
Looks like, with our current temps, gonna have a winter test flight !!!

Big Otto
Thanks for the ideas guys I found and downloaded the outerzone plan
Gonna be a pain to try to print to the proper scale as there is not one dimension anywhere on the plan
And rib cutting will be TLAR it seems as there is no full sized top view of the step down ribs in the center than get partial cap strips
sorry for the diversion from this Buster thread

Fred, make the elevator from bass and the booms from ply. The plane is quite nose heavy.

Thanks for the reminder Ken
I had noted your recommendation in Your Big Otto grey wing thread. I think your bladder tube location was a neat idea also

Uncle Waynes Goldberg Buster
So, did you ever fly it? How did it balance out? I'm building a Brodak Buster, similar, but different. Interesting thread.

No, question was for the opening poster. Uncle Wayne's Goldberg Buster?
Sorry to hear about your strokes. My Big Otto didn't last long from what I remember.

Re: Uncle Wayne's Carl Goldberg "Buster"...Old Thread
Sorry for the long delay in getting a flight report on Uncle Wayne's Buster. The original purpose was to restore Wayne's Goldberg Buster, and have him see it fly on one of our "Stricker Model Airplane Days" we were doing back then.
Unfortunately, Wayne has steadily become more reclusive, and I kept putting off the post-restoration flight in hopes that he'd get to be there--as he kept requesting--so the Buster got stuck in the back of the storage shed. He was suddenly insistent on having his daughter bring him to our recent Breezy Hill Open House, so I prepped the model, only to have him again back out a the last moment.
So now, Buster is now riding around in my van, waiting for a good day, and I'll post photos and video in this thread when it's long-awaited flight happens.

Re: Uncle Wayne's Carl Goldberg "Buster"...Old Thread
Oh geez, there's more to this story than I was expecting. Sorry to hear about Uncle Wayne's condition. I get it as I realize myself spending more time in the basement workshop rather than getting out to the field. Maybe you could find a park where you could just swoop in and fly it in front of him.
My first Buster was a Carl Goldberg Buster that I built in approximately 1971, I was 18. She built fast, flew great, and I had a blast doing continuos lazy eights. Currently now at 67, I'm building a Brodak Buster. Slightly different build, doesn't build fast (maybe I know too much now and I'm more careful) and feel like I'm defending my reputation. I've always tried to build nice models. So I was glad to run accross your post, just to see someone else with a Buster. Thanks for sharing and good wishes to Wayne and you.
