Hi,
I already mentionned that engine in another topic, but I had not seen that section "For Sale", then...
You can see it on ebay.fr ; my ID is "Dafnys3"
Price : 500 €, open to debate of course. That price of 500 was for Ebay... I think that 350/400 would be accepted ;-)
Best regards from France,
B.

Your 1959 Silver Bee Listing
Hello hikikomori89, I saw your listing
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Vintage-engine-COX-Silver-Bee-1959-0-49inch3-In-perfect-condition-MINT-/131629374699
According to Mark Boesen's Babe Bee Engine Guide:
Lettering on the tank back would place this Babe Bee at least 1964 or later.
I can't tell specifically, it appears that the crankcase is thicker and appears to be straight by the propeller drive plate, instead of narrower and tapered. There is no lettering on the short 5 cc aluminium tank, it is certainly not the 8cc tank of the Silver Bee. Yet it has the thinner cylinder of the mid 1960's. It's got the smaller needle valve knob on it.
This engines does not appear to be the 1959 Silver Bee, but a Babe Bee of later vintage. Thus, it would not be considered as valuable as your stated price would indicate, although it may have greater value than the later Babe Bees. My guess would be a product of the early 1970's, but I could be wrong.
We have a number a Cox engine experts here, who might be able to clarify what years your engine was manufactured in. But it does not appear to be a product of the 1950's.

Thank you very much for those precious details !
Well,
To be honest : I am the seller, but not the owner (who is a close friend). I am interested in those engines as I'm interested in all vintage products, but no specialist...
I will tell my friend. I thank you VERY much !
Then : the price is too high ? (si j'ai bien compris)
Thx !
