My grandson visited me at the circle!

My grandson visited me at the circle!
My grandson came down the circle this morning to visit me! It was his first time seeing my planes fly ... he was sooo excited!
-------------------------------------------------------
He is so fascinated by my flight boxes. I've got my back turned ... yes he rearranged it for me.
------------------------------------------------------
He was very good about the lines on the ground, once I showed him they were there .... He seemed to think it was neat that they went all the way to the handle.

That's so great, fine looking youngun' there. And even I still manage to ankle-hook some lines now and then. Usually late in the day, and most of the time it's my own. Even though it's my own orange cones used to demarcate the area Lol. You're a pretty young looking GrandDad. I'm afraid all I've got so far is a couple of grandcats.

yes sir, start 'em out young....he'll remember the sounds and smells till he builds his own! I'm sure the cameraman would have kept his little fingers out of any harmful
Chemicals or spinning props, while your back was turned. Glad he had a good time.

Re: My grandson visited me at the circle!
I dont know if I'm too young to be a grand dad .... but it feels pretty good to have him around!! He's a great kid and he doesn't have any toys that compare to what I have in the workshop/garage. He'll drop everything to come sit on my lap while I work on something at the bench. Fascinated with tools and such.
I did ask my wife if she thought she could take a video of me flying yesterday ( I don't have any ) and still watch the youngster and keep him from trying to get at me in the center .... it was best that she didn't.
Eventually I will get him some airplanes to fly ... but as yet, he's too young. Balsa doesn't last long in his hands and even a plastic model or two I got him from HobbyTown didn't last. At 2 years old ..... the die cast planes are best.

That's great that he is so interested. When the time comes to involve him physically in the hobby, usually as a holder preflight him as well as the plane.
I started my son at about 7 or 8 warning him about the spinning prop and how to release the plane upon my signal, what I forgot was to tell him to run away from the circle, instead he ran toward me. Luckly it was a good flyer and was well above his head by the time it got around to where he was. Good thing he was a little fella at the time.
About 20 years later.....

Ahhh, starting him out real early. Good idea Larry. Teach him to throw those balsa gliders. That'll excite him! Or the rubber banded-prop planes. That's so cool to have him to your field.
