Sig Buster flight w/ report
I finally got the flight video of my flight with my newly acquired sig Buster uploaded!
The flight went well, the day was HOT 97deg with 78% humidity but not a puff of wind! I was out with BadBill Davenport of stunthanger helping him with a stubborn Fox 29X and decided that it would be a good time to try out my New buster which I received second hand with a badly damaged landing gear and had to re-rig the controls. I don't know much history behind the model other than it has a Fox shiny case .15X which runs well. Anyway I set it up and fueled er up and lit er off. It was a bit stubborn to start due to the heat but once it was running it settled in well. The lines were 52' steel braided and I walked to the center and after checking the elevator, I gave the signal and off she went. The takeoff was quicker than I expected and kinda supprized me but it showed no bad qualities and was real stable with good line tension and was decently fast lap times were about 4.85 sec! Aside from the speed, it would make a descent trainer since it was real gentle on the controls (though she was gonna be a little twitchy) about toward the end she began to lean out a bit but ran the tank dry which is a I think 2 1/2 ounce uniflow andshe landed without a hitch glide was decent with as short the wing is so it was good fun. I may bring er along when I head up to rusty's place for 1/2A day and fly er. Anyway that all i can do at presant but I will add more once i get back from work! Untill then enjoy the video! (Bandit)

Sold Bandit, sold. Loved the flight so much I bought one. I have been looking for something to mount one of my Enya .15's on and that's just the ticket. Looks really stable in your video and not complicated to build.

Hmmm... Watching the video I counted 57 laps! Using my handy-dandy Whiz Wheel, I came up with an average speed of 49MPH. Pretty good!
I bought one of those Busters a couple of years ago to mount a Medallion .15 on to teach my wife. She had no interest in it, so it's been sitting on the shelf. I've been thinking of just building up a Ringmaster wing to size for it and making it a lazy day aerobatic trainer type. Your video just moved it up the project queue, I think...

Good work, Bandit.
And welcome to CEF Bad Bill, glad to have you here with us. You don't have to be a Cox nut to play, we like everything about planes and plane people around here.
Hey, Bandit, one thing I have learned about camera work for CL... keep the pilot's feet at the bottom of the viewfinder. That way we get all the sky and less of the grass for when you do loops and such crazy things.
Bring that plane for 1/2A Day. We fly them all. We give out pilots' choice awards for best plane, best flight and best scale model. None of it is serious at all though.

Sweet flight Bandit! Thanks for posting the vid. This might make an ideal choice for my .09's. Though it calls for .10-.15's, it's just slightly larger than 1/2a so it looks like it's in the running. That was a safe flight. Now let's see you loop and eight.

Saturday, September 26. You should come up to Columbia Friday and spend the night at my house. Then we can get an early start Saturday morning. It's about an hour and half from here to Huntersville. We fly until the club meeting starts at 2:00, and after that we can continue to fly, except usually everybody else packs out when the meeting is over. That doesn't mean we have to leave then though. You can stay over in Columbia and head back to Georgia Sunday if you like. That breaks up the road time, especially after a hard day of flying.TDbandit wrote:When is 1/2A day btw? (Bandit)
