Re: Cox 15 piston reset tool loaner program
Hi Jason,
I'd appreciate your reply ASAP regarding my post about the loan of the .15 piston reset tool. Do you need cash for postage? Otherwise how does the shipping work to me and back again? Best regards - Edward Tucker.

User Smooth_Bill currently has the tool. PM him to work out the details on shipping.

Jason,
Your ball socket seating tool, and that beautiful aluminum case, are on the way to the UK.
Mailed it yesterday via USPS, and asked Edward to please forward it to the next person who asks to use it here on the forum (Kari?).
May even get to use it myself some day, if I ever find a Cox .15 engine.

Re: Cox 15 piston reset tool loaner program
It is a well machined tool. Surely one of a kind.
I do suggest that it gets sent back to Jason once everyone on the list is don't with it. Better off not have it get stuck with someone only to have it be forgotten about.

Re: Cox 15 piston reset tool loaner program
The .15 piston reset tool now resides safely with me here in Berkshire, UK. I've successfully used it on my Sportsman rebuild, so it's available anytime to send-on, as required. I messaged the forum member from Finland (KariFS) who expressed an interest in the tool - but have not heard from him/her after several weeks. If anyone wants it before mid-July please advise me as I'm off to Alaska from 17th June. Very nicely presented tool this, so thanks to Jason and to Smoothbill for forwarding. Regards to all.

Sorry Ed, I have missed your message. I am still interested in the tool. Did it arrive to you in the carrying case? It would be better if the tool could be sent inside the EU without the case, as a parcel will cost about 22€ each way, but a bubble wrap envelope would be about 2 or 3€. That would of course mean that the tool would eventually have to be sent back to you, and then you'd box it up and send it back to the USA. I am still willing to split the postage over the Atlantic of course.
On the other hand if nobody else in EU needs the tool, you can send it to me with the case and I'll send it to whoever is next in line.
We can discuss this here or via pm.

OK, the "Traveling Tool" has arrived to Finland And what a nice tool it is indeed, great fit and finish.
Who should I send it to after I'm done with it?

Yes I do... By the way, did you pay the shipping from USA to you? If you did, then I suppose I should pay you the shipping from you to me.
This was a good reminder If anyone needs the tool, just shoot me a pm with your address.
Here it is, as seen in my October 2016 EotM entry

Re: Cox 15 piston reset tool loaner program
Re: postage - no need as Smooth Bill generously paid shipping from USA to UK. I think the cost was less than he expected but good of him anyway. My recent .15 piston/rod swop turned out less good than promised so I could use the famous resetting tool once again! Please forward it to me - I will PM you with my address details. Nice TD .15 by the way. I'm also fortunate to have nice examples of that one too, plus the Special .15 and Special Mk 11. Following picture of my first Sportsman .15 rebuilt using the tool when I first had it. I will send it back to anyone/anywhere else wanting it when I'm finished again. Edward.

OK, the "traveling tool" is on its way back to Edward. Got it in the mail yesterday, and the friendly customer service professional stated that it should take about 3 or 4 working days.
I am so sorry it took this long to get it sent. I did not wrap it up and send it immediately like I should have, and somehow managed to forget the entire thing...

Happy to say I now have the famous and well travelled .15 piston tool. Used it again today to good effect and will keep it secure until another forum member needs it. Just ask and I'll forward it.

Piston reset tool needed
Good morning everyone! I'm a relatively new member to this site. I'm currently putting 2 Olympic .15's back together and the pistons need resetting. As I am a new member I don't know if you would feel comfortable sending the tool to me, although for what it's worth I have the utmost respect for the property and tools of others. I happened on this post by chance, I was hoping to buy the reset tool until I found out that they were never made! Anyway, let me know one way or the other, I promise to post a vid of both the engines running after the buildup!

Hi,
I have no problem at all with your request as I too had only been a forum member for a few months when I had the privilege of using this excellent tool. I will need your full US postal address. Best regards - Ed Tucker.

Excellent, I really appreciate it! Would you like it shipped back to the return address when I'm finished with it? I should only be a day or two with it!

Re: Cox 15 piston reset tool loaner program
No, as I suspect that most requests are likely to come from the US in future so probably best to keep it stateside until another forum member requests it after you. Overall postage costs are therefore minimised if I'm correct. It will take me a few days to get it packed and down to my local PO, so I'll advise you when the tool is on it's way.

Here's what happens if you don't use a reset tool. I bought this sportsman on eBay last week, it's currently on its way back to the seller.

Looks rough on the outside but inside is something else! Hope the "winning" bid was not too high...

I would recommend you go back to you post with you full address and phone number and edit that data out of the post
It is here on a online data base for all time
All online forums have BOTs invading all the time LOOKING for e-mail addresses, Names, passwords, phone numbers and physical addresses...
example: just copied this from the bottom of opening page
In total there are 53 users online :: 7 Registered, 1 Hidden and 45 Guests :: 2 Bots
Most users ever online was 192 on Thu Dec 05 2013, 15:12
Most forum software holds you user name, password, and registration data safely out of reach (most of the time)
BUT ANY info inside a thread is easy for the BOT to see and copy
These BOT are programmed to also find all the various ways we use to disguise our e-mail address
Like John55@AOL.com may be posted in a thread as John55-- at-- AOL-- DOT-- com: or some other disguise... the BOTs are smart enough to find these
most of the time Private Message (PM) or e-mail is the safer way to send this info to a forum member
