I might have considered it, but faced those dreaded words once again " No international shipping".
Come on folks, get with it. We're a global community these days.

I have a good friend in California (who I am yet to met face to face) who mails me items from people who don't or won't ship overseas. I have a secondary shipping address on my PayPal account (his) so before I pay for the item I change the shipping address to him and pay. This part is important if using PayPal as the seller must ship to the address shown when the item is paid for. When the bill get up to $75 dollars or so I buy US$ for what I owe plus a bit more for a beer or two for him and mail the cash in an envelope. Been doing this for five or six years now and no problems yet touch wood (touches head). The exchange rate costs at the bank hurt a little bit but all said and done it's still always cheaper than what I can buy it here for if available. Sometimes the bargain is not what it costs but just obtaining it.

Fair enough. Not a bad way to get stuff sent when they won't. Kim got me a couple of Gilbert heads from a guy who wouldn't send international and sent them back with my Tach Race engines, saving on extra shipping cost in the deal.
I sort of figure that it's a way of moderating my buying habits and have to learn not to get too upset with the uncooperative sellers.

I'm sure most people "hate" seeing "no overseas", but should probably also understand selling overseas is a significant greater risk compared to shipping lower 48 only, and often the "reward" (profit) is not worth the risk. I've got over 1000 sales on eBay and the only issues I've had in the fifteen years is overseas buyers.
I'm sorry, but where there's smoke, there's fire.

Fredvon4 has, most graciously, bought and forwarded stuff for me in the past. There are "forwarding companies" out there, but for small one off items they're very expensive.
