Re: my latest ebay purchase
Those look like PeeWee 020's to me. Don't know if the 010 were ever made with aluminum red tanks. Check the library of plans over on Outerzone :
http://www.outerzone.co.uk. A quick search for "020" turns up 139 plans to choose from! Like a kid in a candy store!!

Re: my latest ebay purchase
I will do a bit of research. . They came from the bay and the seller did not know what they were. From the pictures in the add one looked bigger thsn the other so I was thinking 1 .010 and 1 .020. I saw a plan on here a couple weeks ago for a good looking .020 powered plane. That was the inspiration for this purchase.
Thanks for the response marleysky

Yes, both .020 Pee Wees. The .010s are all Tee Dee front rotary valve engines. They never could get the reed valve to work well when it got that small. The .020 came in both reed and front rotary valve versions.

Yep, those are Pee Wee .020s. They tried to make a .010 reed valve engine but because of the size and the speed, they had problems with the reed floating so it never went past R&D. Mud has a picture of some of the only known to survive parts.

Re: my latest ebay purchase
I must say what a blessing this forum is. So much shared information.
I am looking forward to building up something to mount them on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: my latest ebay purchase
My first choice for a nice control line model would be:
American Boy - Control line trainer for .020 - .049 engines. Scientific kit no 24. Direct submission to Outerzone.
Supplement file details:
Zipfile containing 2 items: a PDF of hand-drawn traced formers and a JPG of colour decals.
But that was just in the "A" s. Of the listings. Like I said a kid in the candy store....

Oh, by the way, maybe it was a typo by you, but a lot of people make this mistake. The spelling is Thimble Drome. As in thimble sized aerodrome.rogermharris wrote:picked these up off of ebay. think they are .010 thimble drones....
Just helping, not being a smartaxe.

Yea. Don't know if it was a typo or my tablet but thanks for the correction. Guess I should read before I submit LOL![/quote]

Re: my latest ebay purchase
There are a lot of neat free flight model plans in the outerzone site for the Pee Wee. Some Guillow's kits have readiness for .020 too.
Or you could design a twin-engined C/L model for them
