That would be great!  I bet there would be a number of others who might have need of some too!  I s'pose 1/8" thick, tapered down should be sufficient.  Wish I knew how to do what you do!!  Maybe I'll live long enough ....maybe!

well if i can do them in 1/8" do they need to be tapered on both sides or just the outside? i downloaded a 3d rendering program and am trying to render something i can cut

I s'pose a one sided taper would work just as well as a two sided taper, don't you? I just think the double taper looks kool and fast. Guess it's what I'm more used to seeing but it sure wouldn't hurt to try whatever you are able to come up with. What do you think??

I'll see what I can do. 1/8" total thickness does not leave much to work with. I have not done any 3d cutting yet. The other obsticle is being able to flip the piece and get it properly indexed to taper the back side. It will be a learning experience for sure. I look forward to the challenge. We got our cc router table three years ago. It came in two crates. I assembled it and have taught may self how to run it. Its time for me to finally test the 3d cutting side

thanks!  i can get acrylic in a few colors. the difference is i have a bunch of clear scrap so i could sell them for less and they look cool in the sunlight.

i worked on the design a bit today.  i added a bit to the line adjustment post and the two notches where you wrap up the lines. they feel good and strong.
another good thing about clear is you will see any cracking right away

First dished number two trainer
Made some mods including laminating the fuse from firewall to 3/4" past the t/e of the wing with 1/33" ply. Hope to get it up and flying this weekend. Lunch Time Laser'in - Page 3 AACE1067-3DC8-4B89-B8CE-8D9CE8F8AF30Lunch Time Laser'in - Page 3 83B14E8B-8291-4550-B073-0A80E713895A
Made a set of spacers from derin tight enough that just a tweak in the end of the leading gear will keep them from coming off.Lunch Time Laser'in - Page 3 DAB32EF4-B4BF-46E3-8A95-8DC614D3788E

Now back to the stunt trainer and bipe. Busy busy.

Man, this thread moves faster than I keep up. I missed the part about the handles, those look like great replacements for my old Cox ones that are no longer safe to use. I'll PM you.

Good luck with your maiden flights, I'll be keeping up now and then while I'm on vacation.

Hello Roger, I received my wheels today along with the really cool clear plastic handle! Thank you very much. Looks like you've been building up a balsa dust storm! I would guess with lasers it's more of a smoke cloud!! Those trainers are looking good.
Thanks again, Rene

Here's mine:

Great stuff you got going on. Do you know how much the shipping would be to Finland for a couple of handles and a bipe kit?

well gosh Eric Embarassed

thanks! i am having fun bringing this old hobby back into my life and sharing with my son.

it's been blistering and humid here the last few days.. mid to upper 90's at the moment it's 86 and climbing. i try to get out early evening for an hour to an hour and a half at least a couple time during the week and with good weather and a clear scheduled sat and sun evening. i have a county park within ten minutes and they have not tossed me out yet so things are good.

all i ask is that if i take on a project be patient. the bipes will take quite a bit of time and coordination. i'm trying to check and recheck and tweak things so produce the most accurate kit i can.

once i send them out, please let me know if you see anything wrong.

Thanks Bob! An afterthought would have been to move the flames back a bit so that it was a little more solid in the common breaking area but it does look cool!
