Cox Engine of The Month
Really. I mean it this time.

Really. I mean it this time.
Okay. Last one. Really. After this one I’m putting the Maker away until I get everything glued up.
Back in the mid 80’s, when RCModeler published Fred Reese’s Simple Citabria (here), and a few months later the Simple Cub (here), I had to build them. Fred Reese designed at least 16 planes around the Ace Mini Foam Wing. I didn’t want to build all of them, but I did want to build a few of them. The Citabria and the Cub were both lots of fun, and I flew the heck out of them. A friend said he really liked the Citabria, and since I just took a job a couple of states away, I gave it to him. I don’t remember what happened to the Cub, but I probably gave that one away too. Ever since, I’ve wanted to build them again, but Ace stopped making the foam wings in the mid-90’s. I’ve thought about doing a built up wing and building a couple more, but it just seemed like too much effort. But I don’t have that excuse any more. So I spent this evening drawing up a balsa replica of the Ace foam wing using egg crate construction. Then I downloaded the plans for the Simple Citabria from OZ and drew those up also.

I DID IT! I REALLY DID IT!!!!
I packed up the Cricut machine in its box and put it in the storage room! Now I can finally start building! I told you I didn't need the Cricut machine. I told you I could do without it. I told you I could stop any time I wanted. I told you I could, uh....
I.....
