Wanted cox plastic fuel tank

Post  craig bernard Tue Jan 06, 2015 3:19 pm

I have this gas tank and the nipple is broken off were you would put the tubing to the engine. Its a clean BREAK and whas thinking of using aplastic tube to put back on with either plumbing pvc cement or five minute epoxy.I thought maybe the pvc cement because its very strong on house pipes but may melt the tank to much.could someone give me some ideas I alredy have those two cements thats why Im mentioning them.thanks craig

Is the tank removable Craig? (like the snap-in one's on the later-model PT19's were) If so.. and if you have a small "Perfect" style lead-out guide, you could remove the tank and drill-out the existing hole with a 3/32" drill and install the guide from the inside and use a piece of small silicone fuel line snugged-up tightly to hold it in place. It may drip a little.. but it's not going to break off.

Small to say the least!
Oh wait, here's one.

I picked up a Skycopter rotor assembly a while back for the .020 engine.
You need, I don't, it's yours.
PM your address. That's the best fix I could come up with. Smoking

That's great! Was gonna say clean well and used plastic cement to glue nipple, make sure glue is slightly softening plastic, stick a piece of music wire or equivalent thru nipple and press nipple onto tank together, after glue is dried pull out wire, nipple is centered and fuel hole isn't plugged.

I did this on another plane for a friend of mine... You might be able to do something similar.
