I remembered it but forgot to post about it. Most of the men and boys in my family joined the services the next day. My grandfather, an old Navy man was too old, but after raising hell about it they finally let him join the Coast guard and he eventually ended up on the beach in Okinawa. I still have a Japanese sniper rifle he found in the woods near the beach. My Dad and his brother were on different boats in the South Pacific. One of the Movie Tone News reports showed his brother's ship being hit by a Kamikaze and his wife freaked out in the theater, not knowing it had happened. He survived though.

Yes, "The date that will live in infamy." I watch the evening news and over the years their reporting of the event has trickled off.

My son was just visited the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. He had his tablet with him, skyped me and took me along on a video tour. Impressive.

My father-in-law was a Warrant officer aboard the USS Piro (ammunition ship) in the Pacific during the conflict. Made it out alive and lived a long and productive life.
