Re: cox thermal hawk
Did you know Cox issued two types of wings. The second one came as an option. Mine had the 2 wings, but I can't remember the differences.

Yes the spyder was a 42 inch wingspan and different tail feather set with bigger control surfaces. The thermal hawk had a 55 inch wingspan and the same tail feat her set as the ez bee 2. They also made the ridge hawk that had the same main and tail wings as the spyder but it had a rounded nose because it was built as a powerless glider. The earliest forms of the glider was a larger version of the ridge hawk called the siloette but with a 55 inch wingspan. It also too was a powerless glider but both the siloette and the ridge hawk could be fitted with a power pod by being mounted on the top almost leading edge of the wing.

Re: cox thermal hawk
Hello and thank you for the reply! I haven't been through St Louis for a while but I am a big Cards fan so future trips are definitely a possibility. I recently purchased a 074 queen bee from eBay so I need to wait a while before I purchase anything else so my wife doesn't make me sleep on the couch, lol ! What were you looking to get out of your thermal hawk? Is it used? No big deal if it is as long as it's in decent condition.

Yes it's used, kinda, and the wing/tail had been spray painted yellow, so it has some imperfections. I don't think it's ever been flown or completely assembled. I have the box as well. My plan was to gorilla glue as bondo and paint the wing/tail white, but..... it's another project that hasn't happened yet. I also have spare a Texaco I was planning to mount on it as well.

I already have a ap .061 I would use so I wouldn't be interested in the Texaco but I am very interested in your thermal hawk. Would $50 rake it off your hands?!?!

Re: cox thermal hawk
I'll try to post some pics. However, I can't seem to get onto the forum at home. I'm having my provider look into it.
Re: cox thermal hawk
The wings are not in as good condition as I would of liked but it's nothing I can't fix. I am very pleased the decal sheet is still present and I'm glad it's got the larger control surfaces on tail feathers but I am more at the $40 range. I may have to a few weeks till I purchase it cause I need to ebay some stuff off to keep the wife happy.

Re: cox thermal hawk
I think I'll just keep it. It does have some paint melting on the control surfaces and on the wings.
Re: cox thermal hawk
I just picked up a Thermal Hawk in a swap and some mostly Hi Tec and Cox AM and FM radio gear I will never use. Anyone need anything?
