Already built or a kit?

Have you flow RC before and what type of plane/flying are you after?

If you want to have an ARF, then I think the only option is to convert one that was originally intended for electrics. The conversion is very easy to do though, just strengthen up a little around the firewall, and fuel proof the front as well.
E-Flite have a few nice planes that would do well on a throttled .049 engine, how about their sessna 150 for instance?

Re: cox plane like the q tee or whatever
Hobby King's USA West warehouse has a 38" wingspan Cessna 182 laser cut kit for $44, also a 46.5" wingspan Piper J-3 Cub for $29. These would be easily converted to glow power. The Cessna would probably handle a hot .049 reed valve if built light to .09; I'd shoot for at least a Cox .049 Tee Dee or Medallion to Norvel .061 Big Mig. The Cub would be better with a larger engine, at .075, but I'd shoot for a .09 to .15 engine.cox24711 wrote:could be a arf elctric plane that i covert (i have good building skills love rubber band planes)

They have others, too. If you've never built RC before, it wouldn't hurt to enlist someone who has to help you. These are not complicated, but they do require some prior building knowledge, although building rubber powered stick and tissue airplanes does give a good foundation overall.

You will be hard pressed to find an ARF .049 RC.
Think about this, you originally posted on 9 Nov, you could have already ordered a kit and been working on it for a week by this time.
You will probably enjoy building and be happy in knowing that you completed a model. Since you are 12, you have plenty of time.
Also, don't shy away from the hardware store. Foam board and other supplies are available and cheap. You could design your own.

Check this out:
https://www.coxengineforum.com/t3755-power-pod-for-my-3-meter-bird-of-time-sailplane
You could get a glider kit and buy/build a pod for your engine. The balsa ones fly so much better than the cheapo styrofoam toys that the build process is well worthwhile.
