Born to Fly
Now here is where I may wind some of you up. A deliberate act and choice of topic title to attract viewers.
A while ago I saw Ron posted a picture of his flight seating arrangements where he had laid his magazines out to read.
Here is my version of this - plus a little commentary
First of all - make sure that you chose a reasonable airline.
This is the aeroplane I usually end up with. Emminently suitable for the transatlantic hop.
It takes a while to get everyone on board but my ticket gives me priority. Met with champagne, travelling slippers and todays newspaper so that you can sit comfortably until everone else has managed to board. Your coat is taken and hung in a closet and hand luggage stowed carefully for you.
I could do with a little more room though.
There is only just enough to stretch my legs out and it is a little inconvenient reaching for my pile of magazines.
There is, of course, a nice table to spread a magazine on
But there are constant interruptions from "Trolley Dollies" plying one with food and insisting that the table is cleared.
Then the food follows. This takes some time to clear so that you can get on with reading!
Course after course!
And more!
Even more!
I usually manage to finish it though!
Just when you think it is all over - England approaches and it is time for breakfast!
Again - one course is not enough!
No such thing as arriving early! We circle until the allotted slot. It gives us time for digestion.
British Airways - one of their adverts!
Every flight, take offs and landings, have the accompaniment of the now long standing British Airways them - "Lacme".
Here is a parody of it by "Trolley Dollies"

Re: Born to Fly
You mean they serve food on an airliner? I had no idea! Made in shade sipping lemonade!!
When I fly I have to carry on a brown bag with a PBJ and a Twinkie and hope TSA don't confiscate my PBJ.

Re: Born to Fly
The job I retired from two years ago had me flying a LOT including several trips to Germany. I stuck with American Airlines for the frequent miler program and eventually after several trips to Germany achieved Executive Platinum. Would have loved it on those trips, I was mostly in the back of the buss economy class. Sitting up front a lot on "upgrades" and taking my wife to visit family in "First Class" is a treat we enjoy
If you want serious sticker shock just go on any airline site and look at First Class costs to Europe or Australia..WOW! $13,668.00 before taxes for me right now to go from Dallas to Frankfurt.
