Yes there was a limited run of only a hand full of Medallion .010's and .020's!
J/K
Sorry I couldn't resist!
Nice looking .051 you got there. I'd love to see some pics of your Medallion collection.

Re: got the last one to make my ...
I didn't think Cox made a production .051 Medallion. There was the limited numbered NFFS run but that was something very special.
Re: got the last one to make my ...
Yeah,
Like Matt said if it's an .051 it's been modified. They only came in .049 form besides the NFFS version.
If the crankcase has a serial number that starts with a five let us know.

Is that a groove in the cylinder exhaust port or just a line from gunk? I thought a .051 piston groove would look more prominent. Just asking.

No, you're sane Jason, It's been milled. Easy fix though.
Hey Eric, just to clarify, I said they only came in .049 form, but Cox did manufacture .09 and .15
They are good engines regardless so either way it will be useful.

Well; I guess I should KNOW better ( but jumped the gun ) no numbers , wrong prop plate , the cly. I am not sure but the piston is correct and both look fairly new (not much ware at all) my nipple is broken , but that's OK.......... I guess the pis/cyl. assy. were available at one time to purchase and do with as you pleased ? sdjjadk My medallions were in this months engine of the month contest Other than one that's on my stuntman 23 . Are the .010 and .020 medallions red plastic carb. bodys ?? Eric

No .010 or .020 medallion engines were ever made. Only Tee Dee in these sizes and the Pee Wee .020.

Re: got the last one to make my ...
There is no difference in the internals between an .049-.051 apart from the cylinder and piston. That goes for TD's and Medallion.
The TD series differed in carb body color. Black for .049 and red for .051.

Re: got the last one to make my ...
Does it have a TD square intake crankshaft?
The original owner may have used that prop back plate to help identify his modded engine.
Also you have boost flutes in the transfer ports how many per transfer port - if two its a TD cylinder if 1 its a medallion.

Re: got the last one to make my ...
Stevej , I would say tapered I cant push the piston through the cyl. ,,,,1/2anut it has two boost ports on both sides and SPI , if that scratch is a no. i can't tell what it is, according to what I have read it should have 2 boost ports both sides no spi / slit exhaust is this Wikipedia WRONG?? .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cox_model_engine#Medallions Scroll down to the cyl. ID........Don't no about the crank I have not taken it apart ///// If there were not enough parts to make the 300 run of these engines I am sure there were NO replacements available . Don't see why anyone would put a right piston in a wrong cly to sell a FAKE Eric

Re: got the last one to make my ...
It could be a TD .51 cylinder, piston on a Medallion or a Medallion valve body on a TD .51. The crank will tell which.

When I take it apart I will know I was going to say I would make it a TD with a blk. venture If its a TD cranksfaft But still have that 051 piston , But I could sell the pis./cly ? as a replacement . I don't no yet but either way its OK. Just not original!! Eric
